French Doulas Conference, Paris, June 3rd-4th 2011

The 9th French Doulas Conference is almost upon us! And it is with great excitement that I write this post for it is the first time that I will be attending this annual event.

I am extremely honoured to have been invited to speak about Gentle Birth Companions and doulaing in the UK on Friday 3rd, and also to co-present a workshop on the European Doula Network with my Swiss doula colleague Regula Brunner.

But there are plenty more birth and postnatal orientated sessions planned to fill the two day programme. Presentations and workshops led by both English and French speaking faciliators from around the world - with translation - plus improvised theatre, belly art, red tents, dance, father's groups and Friday evening shows to name a few.

With less than two weeks to go, this action packed doula-focused happening seems set to offer plenty of inspiration and food for thought. If you have not yet booked your place, I encourage you to seriously consider doing it now!
